What's Taxable, What's Not!
First let me answer a question that I am often asked by small business owners: No, you can NOT pay money to employees (outside of payroll) and report it on a 1099! Now, that being said . . . what can you give to your employees at year end or holiday time, that does OR does not trigger a taxable event that must be reported thru payroll? |

THAT is the question!
Well, it's that time of year again! Intuit has released the latest and greatest versions of the award winning QuickBooks software line. And, right on cue, the question "Should I upgrade?" begins to filter into my office from clients far and wide. The answer is always "Well, let's talk about 'Return on Investment' . . ." Those of you who have had this conversation with me know my answer. Unless you are currently on a "sunset" version; QB 2005 or older, you will NOT lose any functionality with your software. So, the question then becomes "What have they added to the software that will make my work environment better?" Of course the answer is as individual as each and every QuickBooks user! So, if you want a synopsis of the new or improved features, click the link below. Then, if you still have questions, give us a call to review! |
