The existing StarShip module will be referred to as StarShip Parcel, and continue to be used for shipping packages using carriers such as UPSŪ and Federal Express. StarShip Freight meets the requirements of carriers such as Roadway and Yellow Freight for less- than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipments by providing item level detail and printing the Bill of Lading (BOL). |

Change the configuration in the Desktop View
It's a good idea to change the configuration in the Desktop View section of the Edit | Preferences dialog so that the option labeled Don't Save the Desktop is selected OR close all your reports, windows, etc. then open just the window you want to see; Home Center or Customer Center, etc. then select Save the Current Desktop in the Desktop View section of the Edit | Preferences dialog. It takes more time for QuickBooks to load a saved desktop than it takes to click a few times to open the windows you need to work with after you're logged on. **2008** As we go to press the ProAdvisor advanced copy of QuickBooks 2008 has hit my desk! (SSNVS) for short!
SSNVS is used to verify that a current employee's or new hire's name and SSN match. SSNVS can also be used to verify entire payrolls. The enhancements took effect AUGUST 25th! SSNVS has supplanted the SSA's older Name/SSN matching service - the magnetic-media-based Employee Verification Service. The SSA has announced that EVS will be put to sleep in October! |

Access Your PC Remotely
Thanks to Byron Leonard of Software Blueprint for this tip! Do-It-Yourself access to any PC you own. This could not be easier ... simply setup a FREE account ... install the software on your PC and then you can interact with your PC's desktop from anywhere you have an Internet connection. The free version does not include file transfer or printing to the controlling computer. However, you probably don't need to transfer files since you can both view and edit any file on your remote computer. If you need to print a file you can always email it to yourself at one of the countless free email websites and then print it locally. |
